Fast Lane Friday Returns to Homestead-Miami Speedway

MIAMI, Fla. (Jan. 28, 2025) – Homestead-Miami Speedway will once again host Fast Lane Friday across 11 total events at the speedway this year. Fans will have their first opportunity to participate in this legal drag racing event on Jan. 31 at 6:00 p.m. ET.

“Whether you’re participating in our Fast Lane Friday events or simply taking in all the racing action, this is the perfect opportunity to get a taste of what Homestead-Miami Speedway has to offer,” said Homestead-Miami Speedway President Guillermo Santa Cruz. “We give car enthusiasts the chance to drag race against each other in a safe space. Fast Lane Friday delivers high thrills while opening the door for new fans and you’ll even get a sneak peek of various track preparations happening with the Straight Talk Wireless 400 race weekend right around the corner.”

Fast Lane Friday is open to all car enthusiasts 18 and older with a valid driver’s license and allows drivers the opportunity to race their cars against other street-legal cars on the drag strip.

To compete in Fast Lane Friday as a driver, tickets are priced at $30. If you’re interested in coming to watch as a fan, tickets cost $20 while kids 12 and under are free to watch the event at the speedway.

A Fast Lane Membership is also available for purchase starting at $99. Enjoy all the perks including 20% off all Fast Lane Friday admissions in 2025, 20% off Homestead-Miami Speedway owned events in 2025, 20% off single day race tickets for the March NASCAR race weekend and a $20 concessions voucher.

Racing requirements along with general and driver regulations include:

  • Seat belts: All vehicles must have a minimum of OEM type lap belt system, securely mounted to frame or floor of vehicle.
  • Helmet: Required for convertibles, sunroofs, t-tops or open body cars; helmet must be Snell 2000 or newer (label inside of helmet is proof of certification).
  • Tires: Must have DOT tires, technical inspector must qualify tires (no tire defects, worn out tread, damaged tires, plugs, etc.).
  • Wheels: Hubcaps will be removed for inspectors who will check for loose or missing lug nuts and general condition of rims.
  • Batteries: Must be secured per OEM or minimum of two 3/8″ diameter bolts (no bungee cords, straps, string, etc.); if located in trunk must have cut off switch installed unless factory installed.
  • Exhaust: All cars must have mufflers and not be over max decibel reading determined & approved by technical inspector.
  • Nitrous: Bottles must be stamped to meet DOT (1,800 lb. standard); must be securely mounted (no bungee cords, straps)

GENERAL REGULATIONS:

  • All vehicles must be street-legal
  • Air conditioner OFF when on track
  • Windows up when on track
  • Seat belts worn at all times
  • No backing up past start line (triggers track lights)
  • 15 MPH on return road
  • Slow and cautious driving in garage area (maximum 5 MPH)
  • No passengers in vehicle
  • Rid trunk of loose items

DRIVER:

  • NO DRINKING OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
  • Must be 18 years of age with valid driver’s license and vehicle registration
  • Long pants, sleeved shirts & closed-toe shoes must be worn
  • NO shorts, tank tops, open-toe shoes

NASCAR returns to Homestead-Miami Speedway March 21-23 with all three national series. The racing action will get started on Friday, March 21, with the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Baptist Health 200 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Saturday, March 22, the NASCAR Xfinity Series race continues the racing weekend at 4:00 p.m. ET with racing culminating on Sunday, March 23, as the NASCAR Cup Series drivers will cap off the weekend’s action during the Straight Talk Wireless 400 at 3:00 p.m. ET.
