50th Daytona a Dandy: NASCAR '08 underway; Ford Championship Weekend set for HMS Nov. 14-16

"Every year, the emphasis on team is a bigger factor,” said Tony Stewart after finishing third in the 50th running of the Daytona 500. And heading into this year’s NASCAR opener, most of that talk centered on the Hendrick Chevrolets and the Joe Gibbs Toyotas. But it was the Penske Racing Dodges that played the team game to propel Ryan Newman to victory in Sunday's Daytona 500. Somewhat amazingly, the win was a first for Roger Penske—one-time owner at Homestead-Miami Speedway, today host to NASCAR’s season-crowing Ford Championship Weekend (Nov. 14-16).
