Smoke in Edwards' Mirror

Once again, it all happens here at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Tony Stewart's fourth victory in the Chase at Texas Motor Speedway cuts Carl Edwards' series lead from eight to a razor thin three points. With only two more races left, it looks like this Sprint Cup Chase will culminate in yet another memorable down-to-the-wire finish, and the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami will be the final decider between these two storied NASCAR heavyweights.

"It doesn't take much right now," said Stewart Sunday on Victory Lane. "It's one spot, if a guy wins the race. We're doing exactly what we need to do. I'm really confident right now."

Neither Edwards or Stewart are strangers to success at Homestead-Miami. Stewart won the Pennzoil 400 in 1999 and 2000 and clinched both his 2002 and 2005 Cup Championships here. Edwards, who holds the all-time record for best average finish at Homestead, won the Chase finale in 2008 and 2010, but he's yet to clinch his first Sprint Cup title. Will this be his year at Homestead-Miami?

"Although we would have loved to have won [Sunday], to be three points ahead, and then to have the third- and fourth-place guys farther behind, It looks like it's truly going to come down to Tony and I, and that's going to be a lot of fun," said Edwards.

It all happens during Ford Championship Weekend November 18th-20th at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Who will be corking the champagne this year? Will it be the consistent and persistent Edwards, determined to capture his first title? Or will the streaking Stewart, on fire after winning four of the last eight Sprint Cup races, win his third Cup? It's too close to tell, but what we do know is The Chase Ends Here.
