Kia 200
Forced to the back of the Grand Sport starting grid after winning the pole due to a technical infraction, Matt Plumb and Nick Longhi drove from last to first to win Saturday’s Kia 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. It was the second consecutive victory for the No. 13 Rum Bum Racing Porsche 997. Martin Jensen prevailed in a back-and-forth battle to win in the Street Tuner class; driving the No. 18 Insight Racing BMW 128i started by 2011 Kia 200 winner Ryan Ellis.
Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge
The Continental Tire Challenge features more than 60 of today’s hottest sports cars manufactured from around the world, brought straight from the showroom floor, to race side by side in the Grand Sport (GS) and Street Tuner (ST) classes. The Grand Sport (GS) class features exotic international machines like the Porsche 997, Aston Martin Vantage, BMW M3, Subaru WRX, and Audi S4 going head-to-head with American muscle such as the Ford Mustang GT and Boss 302, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger. The smaller Street Tuner (ST) class is GRAND-AM’s offering to the import and compact car crowd, with the Honda Civic Si, MAZDASPEED3 and RX-8, Volkswagen GTI and Jetta, Mini Cooper S, BMW 328i and 128i, Ford Focus other models competing simultaneously.
