Multiple-gold winning Olympic gymnast and author Gabby Douglas will serve as the Honorary Starter for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series championship, the Ford EcoBoost 400, which will take place on Sunday, November 19 at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC. As honorary starter, Douglas will wave the green flag at the start of the 267-lap race.

CHASE ELLIOTT CLAIMS NATIONWIDE SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP; MATT KENSETH CAPTURES FORD ECOBOOST 300 SATURDAY AT HOMESTEAD-MIAMI SPEEDWAY

In his first season racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, Chase Elliott, driver of the No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet car for JR Motorsports, was officially anointed the 2014 series champion Saturday evening at Homestead-Miami Speedway following a 17th place finish in the Ford EcoBoost 300. He secured the title with a fifth place finish at Phoenix International Raceway last week. Tonight, he officially became the youngest NASCAR champion in any NASCAR National Series. He is also the first Rookie of the Year to win a NASCAR National Series Championship.

NASCAR UNVEILS 2015 SCHEDULE FOR TOP THREE SERIES

In 2015, for the 14th consecutive year, Homestead-Miami Speedway will host the Championship finales in all three of NASCAR's premier series - the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series. NASCAR today announced all three schedules for the 2015 season, including the season-ending races, which will take place at Homestead-Miami Speedway the weekend of November 20-22, 2015.

Homestead-Miami Speedway Partners with Jason Taylor Foundation

Jason Taylor is one of the most recognizable names in South Florida, not just for the football prowess that he displayed during his 13 seasons with the Dolphins, but also for all of the philanthropic work he has done away from the gridiron through the Jason Taylor Foundation, which was established in 2004. For the past 20 years, Homestead-Miami Speedway has been serving the local community as well, helping to revitalize an area ravaged by Hurricane Andrew. The track is now synonymous with NASCAR and championship racing. Today, the two entities announced a partnership which will commence this upcoming weekend during Ford Championship Weekend.
