City of Homestead's Race to the 4th

Homestead’s annual “Race to the 4th!” Independence Day bash is back for the eighth year in a row at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. On Tuesday, July 4, 2017 from 6PM to 10PM, a sea of people, awash in reds, whites, and blues, will descend upon the track—being treated to live music, food trucks, and kids’ activities. Last year’s event boasted a record-breaking 25,000 attendees and this year is expected to bring even more patriots of all ages to enjoy the excitement. Fireworks will light up the sky at Homestead-Miami Speedway this Fourth of July, as the “Race to the 4th” Independence Day Bash, hosted by the City of Homestead, returns to the Speedway for the tenth consecutive year. The event will take place Thursday, July 4 from 6-10 p.m. and is free for all guests. A sea of red, white and blue will rain down upon the track, treating guests to live music, food trucks and kids activities, including amusement rides and rock climbing. Everyone in attendance at this year’s event will have the opportunity to witness a dazzling fireworks display that will cap the evening’s festivities. Perched eight stories above turn one of the championship track, the Champions Club, which offers a preferred view of the fireworks show, will host a special VIP event. A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase at the City of Homestead Parks and Recreation Department, 350 SE 6th Avenue, Homestead, FL 33030. Give Back at the Track

Ever wondered what it’s like to drive on NASCAR’s championship track, here’s your chance. On Saturday, August 12, you will have the rare opportunity to drive around the 1.5-mile oval that hosts NASCAR’s championships, in addition to testing out the Speedway’s 1/8-mile drag strip. Proceeds from the event will benefit Homestead-Miami Speedway’s charitable outreach program, Driving for a Cause. The event will be split into two segments with participants having the opportunity to partake in both portions. From 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., drivers and guests can experience first-hand the Speedway’s unique progressive banking, as they take laps around the track. Following that, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., car enthusiasts will have the chance to run their street-legal cars in head-to-head drag races, which will be staged with the same set-up that fans have become accustomed to during Fast Lane Friday presented by The Ticket Clinic. Local car clubs are invited to attend the event for a group rate. Car clubs will receive a set amount of laps on the track.
