2012 NASCAR Ford Championship Weekend
In 2011, history was made when Tony Stewart won his third NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship. Hollywood couldn’t have written a better ending than Stewart and Carl Edwards going head-to-head with “Smoke” having to win the race to claim the title.
Meantime, we hope that you will remember the epic and historic battle that saw Stewart out-duel Edwards to win the Ford 400 and become the 2011 Sprint Cup Champion. The race was the first-ever NASCAR championship that ended in a points tie. It marked the first time since 1975 that the champion came from behind and won the title by winning the final race of the season.
In 2012, Homestead-Miami Speedway will serve as host to NASCAR’s Ford Championship Weekend for the 11th consecutive year.
For media interested in covering NASCAR's Ford Championship Weekend (Nov. 16-18), please check back later in the spring.
