Kyle Busch vs Richard Childress Racing
Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick tangled at Homestead-Miami Speedway last year during Ford Championship Weekend. Fast forward to this year...Busch and Harvick were put on probation for an altercation at Darlington and last weekend at Kansas team owner Richard Childress ventured into the fray. With tempers flaring already, there may be fireworks this year at Homestead-Miami Speedway during Ford Championship Weekend.

NASCAR Hall of Fame inducts second star-studded class including Miami's Own
With each win, and each championship, a legend grew. And now, those legends have a permanent home including Miami-native Bobby Allison. The second class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame – champions all – captured over 350 victories and a dozen championships in NASCAR’s premier series. The five inductees – Allison, Ned Jarrett, Bud Moore, David Pearson and Lee Petty – make up the second class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C.
The 1983 NASCAR Champion waved the Green Flag to start NASCAR’s Championship-finale Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2009. This year, Homestead-Miami Speedway will host NASCAR during Ford Championship Weekend for the 10th consecutive year.

"I don't mind getting wrecked back, if you think it's payback for Homestead"
Coming off pit road on Lap 187 in the 2010 Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Harvick would have had the race lead. But just moments later he was informed that NASCAR busted him for speeding. He pleaded his case to NASCAR officials and lost, forcing him to restart at the rear of the field.
It was a penalty that had huge implications on the NASCAR Chase for the Championship and Harvick trying to win his first title. In the end the penalty didn’t matter because Johnson finished second to race winner Edwards as Harvick came home in third place.
After the speeding penalty and having to work his way through the field, Harvick came across Kyle Busch and the two made contact on the frontstretch. Harvick sent the young driver spinning and out of his way.
Busch hit the wall hard and his No. 18 M&M’s car then burst into flames. Perhaps the recent rough stuff at Darlington is a result of this incident at Homestead-Miami Speedway last fall. See what Harvick had to say at Dover the next stop on the Road to Miami Nov. 20.

Road to Miami Nov. 20 is Laced with Profanity
It’s not unusual for drivers and their crews to have some heated words during a race, but some were particularly irate during Saturday night’s race at Richmond International Raceway. In 2004, Homestead-Miami hosted the first-ever NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship, as Kurt Busch became the first to hoist the “Chase” hardware. After Saturday's race at Richmond, Busch is being criticized for some harsh words directed towards his Penske Racing team.
This fall, Homestead-Miami Speedway will host NASCAR during Ford Championship Weekend for the 10th consecutive year. For tickets click [here] or call (866) 409-RACE.

What a Difference a Year Makes for Miami's Montoya
A year ago, Juan Pablo Montoya couldn’t buy a break. He had finishes of 37th (twice), 26th, 36th and 34th in five of the first eight Sprint Cup races and was buried in the standings.
Jamie McMurray, his teammate, won the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400. A year later, the roles are reversed. Montoya has four Top 10 finishes in the first seven races and is eighth in points while McMurray has struggled.
McMurray has just one Top 10 and has finishes of 35th, 27th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd to fall to 24th in the standings.
Montoya, who made the Chase in 2009, knows the feeling. He went through it last year.
“Last year, I think I put myself a lot of times in a bad position and it didn’t help and we did have a lot of bad luck,” Montoya said. “This year we came into the season really positive."
Miami's Montoya is looking to race for Sprint Cup title on his home track Nov. 20.

Jr. Remains in the Top 10; California May Provide Early Answers for 2011 Chase Field
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. finished 11th and remained ninth in the standings after working his way back through the field following a pit road speeding penalty late in the race at Bristol. Next up for Earnhardt Jr. and the rest of the Sprint Cup drivers is Auto Club Speedway in California on Sunday, March 27 (2:30 p.m. ET, Fox TV, 2:00 p.m. MRN Radio)—Race 5 of 36 en route to Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway (Nov. 18-20). Auto Club Speedway is a good predictor of who will make the Chase. Eight of the race's top-10 finishers went on to make the Chase in 2007, '09 and '10. Seven of the race's Top 10 finishers made the Chase in 2008.
More than 75 percent of the drivers who have been in the Top 10 in points after five races (following this weekend's race at California) made the Chase since 2007.Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship will culminate at Homestead-Miami Speedway Nov. 18-20.

Sprint Cup Championship Could Be Decided in One Race
NASCAR is looking to change the format of the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Among the ideas being tossed around is a one race, winner-take-all Championship Race, giving even higher stakes to the final race of the year.
Other options include formatting a separate points system, doing a race-by-race elimination, or once-again adding more drivers to the Chase field as the sport did in 2007. Several drivers are hesitant about the changes.
