MIAMI - It only seems fitting that the venue at which NASCAR crowns champions in each of its three premier series is now partnering with a name that is synonymous with championships in South Florida. Homestead-Miami Speedway and Shula’s Hotel & Golf Club in Miami Lakes recently entered into a partnership, making the hotel a preferred hotel of Homestead-Miami Speedway. This affiliation also includes Hotel Indigo, which like Shula’s Hotel, is part of the Graham Hospitality Group and is located in Miami Lakes.
For the past several years, Shula’s Hotel & Golf Club has been the “unofficial” hub for race fans who flock to South Florida for Ford Championship Weekend, which this year will take place November 20-22. As an element of this new partnership with Homestead-Miami Speedway, both Shula’s and the Indigo will now serve as an official race headquarters for NASCAR fans, in addition to other visitors, including race teams and media.
“Shula’s has been a leader in the South Florida hospitality sector for more than 40 years, and having them as a partner will undoubtedly add to the excitement level surrounding Ford Championship Weekend,” said Homestead-Miami Speedway President Matthew Becherer. “The amenities that they have to offer race fans and others in the industry who travel here for the championship race will help to make their weekend a tremendous all-around experience.”
“Our mission at both hotels is to provide simply great service at our unique lodging facilities offering a wide variety of amenities on-sight, and combined with Homestead-Miami Speedway, we are the perfect location for a fun and memorable experience to our destination,” said David Healy, Vice President of Graham Hospitality. “Our partnership will offer fans a great option to enjoy during this exciting race weekend.”
In addition to its preferred status, Shula’s Hotel & Golf Club and the Indigo will be very prominent in literature disseminated leading up to race weekend in addition to extensive signage at the track during the course of race weekend. Fans will have the opportunity to take advantage of special rates, not just for rooms, but also packages which include golf at Shula’s Golf Club. In addition, both hotels will have available shuttle service for guests to and from the track during Ford Championship Weekend.
