WHAT IS SUNOCO GREEN E15?
For the 2011 season, NASCAR’s three national touring series will be powered by Sunoco Green E15: 15% blend made with American ethanol…from American-grown corn Made by Sunoco in Marcus Hook, PA facility now producing our racing fuel. Some horsepower increases, marginal MPG difference. “The ultimate high test” -- same great competition without harming engines. Same engines, same parts, only a few minor adjustments with nominal cost to teams
WHY A NEW FUEL?
American ethanol from US corn creates U.S. jobs – which won’t be outsourced. Contributes to American energy independence…by reducing foreign oil imports. One more step in NASCAR’s Green commitment – greenhouse gas emissions reduced.
DOES CORN ETHANOL AFFECT FOOD SUPPLY/COSTS?
Sunoco Green E15 is good for the environment and America. It helps the U.S. become more energy independent. We are standing behind American farmers, who are growing significantly more corn than is needed for food, and that they will benefit from having a new market for extra corn.
