We’re making history in Miami in 2009, as Homestead-Miami Speedway welcomes the IndyCar, Grand-Am and Indy Lights Championship finales during “SpeedJam” weekend on Oct. 9-10. As such, Homestead-Miami will no longer host the season-opening IndyCar event, held in years past in March in South Florida.
In netting the IndyCar/Grand-Am 2009 Championships, Homestead-Miami Speedway becomes the first venue ever to host all of North America’s premier motorsports championships, as NASCAR’s Ford Championship Weekend also returns to South Florida Nov. 20-22 for the series-crowning championship finales of the Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series.
Those fans who attended NASCAR’s Ford Championship Weekend 2008 races at Homestead-Miami are eligible to renew their tickets right now; the deadline to renew is March 2. 2008 IndyCar ticket-holders can renew right now by calling (866) 409-RACE.
General tickets go on sale April 20th for all six Championship races: the IndyCar, Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car and Firestone Indy Lights Series during “SpeedJam” Oct. 9-10; and NASCAR’s Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series during Ford Championship Weekend Nov. 20-22.
