A barrel of crude oil plunged below $78 last week, meaning oil hasn't been this inexpensive in 13 months. In fact, crude prices have almost been cut in half since hitting a high-water mark (and record) of nearly $150 barrel during the summer.

Better still: Energy experts believe prices could go even lower and sink below the $2.75 per gallon mark within the coming weeks. That's great news for NASCAR fans. Need more reasons to experience the Championship?

“It’s like no other weekend in sports,” said Homestead-Miami President Curtis Gray. “To crown champions in all three of NASCAR’s top tiers during the same weekend at the same venue—in a region renowned as both an international beach and entertainment capital of the world—we like to think we’re on to a little something. There’s really nothing like celebrating a championship in South Florida.”
