MIAMI—Chances of winning the Florida Lottery: 1 in 22,957,480. Odds of getting dealt a royal flush: 1 in 649,740. Odds of styling unlike any fan ever to pass through the gates at Homestead-Miami Speedway: 1 in 300. And the “Paul & Young Ron slept here” association? Priceless.
One group of lucky fans will gain unprecedented access to Homestead-Miami Speedway and spend Ford Championship Weekend (Nov. 16-18) in a 2007 Allegro Bus—a 43-ft. Coach that sleeps five comfortably; has a kitchen complete with gas stove, oven, dishwasher and microwave; a free-standing dinette; living area with seven-foot ceilings and recessed lighting; hand-crafted cabinetry; and a 32-inch front-overhead LCD HD Satellite TV with DVD and surround sound.
Big 105.9 morning hosts Paul Castronovo and Ron Brewer will put the amenities through a test run beginning Thursday evening, Nov. 15, as the RV will play host to Friday morning’s (6 a.m.-10 a.m.) live broadcast of the “Paul & Young Ron Show” in the Speedway’s Campground Lot.
“We look forward to coming back down to Homestead-Miami Speedway for the most exciting weekend in racing,” said Paul. “Plus, Ron met his current wife at a speedway, so it’s almost poetic.” Added Young Ron: “And we promise not to damage or deflower Speedway property in any way this year. Last year’s accident was just that—an accident.”
The remote is open to the public, but raffle tickets ($100 each; only 300 available) to win the RV package must be purchased in advance of the Big 105.9 broadcast, as the winning ticket will be drawn at the Nov. 9 Pineapple Gala—an annual fundraiser benefiting “Speediatrics” children’s services at Homestead Hospital co-chaired by former Homestead Mayor and County Manager Steve Shiver and wife Cire. “As a lifelong resident born in the old Homestead Hospital, Cire and I both are committed to doing all we can to make our community and new hospital shine,” Steve said.
The raffle-winning contingent also will receive VIP credentials for four (4) and a most unique
dwelling spot: parking on the Homestead-Miami Speedway infield—an area exclusive to drivers, owners and race officials during NASCAR's series-crowning race in the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup, as well as the finales of both the Busch and Craftsman Truck series. With access to the pit area and trackside seating, the area is not accessible—at any price—to NASCAR fans.
“This “Ultimate NASCAR Fan Experience” we’ve created with Homestead Hospital Foundation provides unprecedented access of our facility throughout Ford Championship Weekend,” said Homestead-Miami Speedway President Curtis Gray. “Coupled with first-class accommodations in an amazing RV, this truly is the VIP opportunity of a lifetime for a few lucky NASCAR fans.”
