NASCAR Day Pins Now On Sale at Homestead-Miami Speedway
Proceeds to Benefit the NASCAR Foundation and Speediatrics at Homestead Hospital
Homestead-Miami Speedway invites South Florida residents to join thousands of companies and individuals from across the country to celebrate the fourth annual NASCAR Day on May 18 and raise money for the NASCAR Foundation and local charitable initiatives, including Speediatrics at Homestead Hospital.
NASCAR Day, a one-day annual event, gives NASCAR fans an opportunity to show their spirit while giving back to their communities and the nation. All proceeds from pin sales will go to the NASCAR Foundation and Speediatrics, a race-themed pediatric unitat Homestead Hospital. Through the NASCAR Foundation, funds reach charities benefiting children's causes, animal welfare and rescue, nature conservancy, bone marrow and blood donation, and more.
NASCAR Day has been quite successful over the past four years. Homestead Hospital was presented with a $100,000 check for Speediatrics for the past two years as a result of NASCAR Day 2005 and 2006. NASCAR Day 2006 raised over $1.3 million for the NASCAR Foundation and its initiatives.
From now through May 18, NASCAR Day lapel pins will be available for just $5 in two locations in the administration building at Homestead-Miami Speedway: the Speedway gift shop located on the first floor, open weekdays from 10am to 3pm and the ticket office on the third floor, which is open weekdays 9am to 5pm. Pins can also be purchased through the NASCAR.com Superstore at http://store.nascar.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=2602592. Participants are encouraged to wear these special lapel pins on NASCAR Day along with their favorite NASCAR gear to add even more fun to the day.
"The NASCAR Foundation and Speediatrics are such worthwhile programs and we are happy to be able to support them through NASCAR Day each year," said Homestead-Miami Speedway President Curtis Gray. “My staff and I will proudly wear our NASCAR Day pins and race gear on May 18 and encourage everyone to do the same.”
The Chase for The NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series returns to Homestead-Miami Speedway November 16-18 as the world's best drivers take their shot at becoming the 2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Champion.
