Former Formula One star Juan Pablo Montoya will make his NASCAR NEXTEL Cup debut on Sunday after he qualified his No. 30 Texaco/Havoline Dodge in the 29th position.
"I think I'm a fast learner," Montoya said. "Driving the car is no big deal. Driving the car is not the most important thing. The do¿s and don¿ts are the hardest things here. Anyone can put it in the field. You get two clean laps and it¿s all about the car."
Montoya, who was 26th fastest in the Busch Series final practice session, will get in two practice sessions in his Cup car on Saturday before attempting to qualify for the NBS Ford 300.
