At 3 p.m. today, Homestead-Miami Speedway made history at the highly anticipated and unpredictable all-new Chase format finale, the Ford EcoBoost 400, becoming home of the first-ever NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion decided in the Championship Round. Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 4 Budweiser Chevrolet, was crowned the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion and winner of the 20th Annual Ford EcoBoost 400.

    Kyle Busch Captains A Different Type of Speed Machine

    NASCAR driver Kyle Busch is no stranger to speed. On Monday, he experienced a different type of speed – in a different type of vessel. Homestead-Miami Speedway teamed up with the Miss GEICO Superboat team today to teach Busch how to pilot one of the fastest boats in the world. Captaining the Miss GEICO Superboat, Busch hit speeds of nearly 150 mph on the waters of Biscayne Bay in Miami, driving with the Miss GEICO Superboat throttleman Scott Begovich, an eight-time world champion.

    NASCAR Drivers Trevor Bayne and Ryan Blaney Visit Ft. Myers

    NASCAR drivers Trevor Bayne and Ryan Blaney visited Florida’s West Coast today, in advance of Ford Championship Weekend, which will be held November 14-16 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Bayne drives in both the NASCAR Nationwide and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, while Blaney competes in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the Nationwide Series.

    For the 13th straight year in 2014, Homestead-Miami Speedway will host the race that ultimately decides the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion. Kids 12 and under who attend this year’s Ford EcoBoost 400 on Sunday, November 16 will have a first-hand opportunity to find out just what it takes to be a champion. Jimmie Johnson, who has won six of the last eight NASCAR Sprint Cup Series titles, including last year, will hold a Q&A session for kids prior to this year’s race, which starts at 3:00 pm.
