At 3 p.m. today, Homestead-Miami Speedway made history at the highly anticipated and unpredictable all-new Chase format finale, the Ford EcoBoost 400, becoming home of the first-ever NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion decided in the Championship Round. Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 4 Budweiser Chevrolet, was crowned the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion and winner of the 20th Annual Ford EcoBoost 400.

    Local Teen Competes at SCCA Majors at Homestead-Miami Speedway

    One of the participants in the weekend’s competition is 16-year-old Ernie Francis Jr., who grew up in Kendall and now lives in Southwest Ranches. For him, Homestead-Miami Speedway is familiar territory, having started racing go-karts at the track’s adjacent go-kart course at the tender age of four. At 13 he began racing on the road course track.

    Speedway Staff Visit Children at South Florida Care Facilities

    Homestead-Miami Speedway employees and Santa Claus delivered holiday presents to PATCHES and the Speediatrics Unit of Homestead Hospital today to spread holiday cheer throughout Homestead and Florida City. Santa and the Speedway employees delivered wrapped presents to the pediatric patients at the two care facilities, a tradition that began in 2007.
